Hornstars
The Hornstars are the auditioned big band of the University of Bristol and get the collective toe tapping with their repertoire of swing, Latin and funk. Over the last few years the band’s reputation has expanded through Bristol and the South West, becoming a regular name at functions and parties with its energetic performances.
However, the Hornstars have also gained recognition further afield, recently being awarded a gold medal for the third year in a row at the National Concert Band Festival final in Warwick. In June 2008 the band spread the love venturing out on tour on canals round Birmingham, drawing large crowds at a series of venues.
